A few days ago, we covered claims from German magazine SportBild that Tottenham have held talks with Julian Brandt’s father regarding a summer move for the Bayer Leverkusen player.
Spurs were named as one of three serious options for Brandt, with Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund also having a chat with Brandt’s camp.
Torino and PSG were credited with interest, although not considered as strong as the others in the race.
On Monday, Bild kill Tottenham hopes.
They say ‘offers from Torino, Paris, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid have been rejected’, with Brandt now on the verge of a move to Dortmund.
It’s even suggested the move could go through this week for the player’s €25m clause.
Refusing to rule out keeping their star, Leverkusen’s Rudi Völler told Bild: “We have not given up hope yet.”
The German newspaper doesn’t seem to believe there’s a lot of reason for that hope.
Dortmund are getting business done early, and it’s also claimed they’re close to signing Thorgan Hazard for €25m plus bonuses, along with Nico Schulz for €27m.
