SportBild believe several Premier League clubs are keen on Augsburg left back Philipp Max, with Tottenham Hotspur being one of those named and seemingly one of the likelier candidates.

Max has made 10 assists this season in 21 Bundesliga games, and that’s brought him to the attention of other clubs around Europe. The 24 year old has also been putting in good general performances, his assist statistics aren’t simply a freak of numbers.

SportBild explain Max has big ambitions, and the player himself recently spoke of a desire to move to the Premier League. RB Leipzig are also named as interested, but Max’s wish to test himself outside of Germany would give the advantage to Tottenham and their English rivals.

The fullback would be a good option for Mauricio Pochettino especially with doubt surrounding the future of Danny Rose this season.

Augsburg are said to want at least €30m, so the Tottenham plan would surely be to get more for the 27 year old Englishman and then replacement him with a younger option.

Should Spurs be thinking about life after Rose then it’s no surprise Max would be on a list of possible replacements, along with others including Porto’s Alex Telles.
