Tottenham have today sent ‘emissaries’ to Milan to negotiate a deal for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say that Spurs are ‘aiming’ to secure the defender this summer.
They’ve planned a meeting with Inter today to ‘understand the margins’ of the potential negotiation, which the website states does not ‘promise to be simple.’
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is thought to have made signing a new central defender a priority before the end of the window having been left unconvinced by the options currently available to him.
That has sparked rumours of a move for Skriniar, who Inter are now willing to sell despite deeming him as untouchable less than a year ago.
They want a big price for him regardless, and it seems Tottenham are now opening contacts with Inter to discover if they can get a deal done.
Calciomercato.it state it is unlikely to be simple in that regard, suggesting that Spurs and Inter will be far apart in their valuations at the beginning of negotiations.
They are, though, seemingly willing to back Mourinho given the business they’ve done already this summer, so it remains to be seen how far they are willing to go to try and get Skriniar too.
