As we all know, Christian Eriksen’s time at Tottenham is coming to an end.
The Dane, plucked from Ajax right under the nose of many bigger clubs, has been a great success story in north London over the past six years, but, as he nears the end of his contract, it seems the love just isn’t there anymore.
A change of scenery is clearly needed for the 27-year-old, and multiple options will likely be at his disposal over the past few months.
The big question is whether he will leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January or whether he will stick with José Mourinho until the end of the campaign and depart on a free.
Daniel Levy might have something to say about this, as we doubt the Spurs chairman will want to allow the latter, but in case that happens, Juventus will be there, waiting.
That’s what Il Tempo are claiming on Wednesday, explaining Eriksen is one of two players on the Serie A champions’ agenda for the summer alongside Brescia’s Sandro Tonali, even though they are wary of Manchester United’s interest.
They state the Premier League side are pushing for a January move, which has already been well documented by outlets on this side of the Channel.
There’s no real surprise in any of this, as we all know Juventus love a good free transfer, and if Eriksen does end up falling into that category, they will be first in line with an interesting project and a juicy contract in their back pocket to try and sway him towards the Allianz Stadium.
