Earlier on Monday, we covered early morning reports from Italy regarding Napoli and their desire to sign Giovani Lo Celso from Tottenham.
Corriere dello Sport claimed the Italians wanted a loan with an option to buy, in a similar deal to the one put together for Tanguy Ndombélé, while TuttoMercatoWeb were stating that the Serie A side were ready to put €15m on the table despite Spurs wanting €25m.
Now, we have an exclusive from Calcio Napoli 24, who bring their own information to the fore, and reveal that ‘not only have there been contacts’ between Napoli and the Tottenham player, but he would also ‘gladly accept’ the transfer to the south of Italy.
As things stand, the Argentina international is ‘leafing through’ the various options at his disposal with his entourage, ‘looking for the most intriguing solution’.
It’s added that it ‘will not be easy’ for those negotiating on behalf of Napoli to get his approval, mostly due to his wages, as he would ask for ‘at least €6m/year’.
That’s why the ‘collaboration’ from Tottenham’s end ‘will be essential’, as they would require Daniel Levy and co. to ‘take on part of the payment of his salary’.
This is seen as the ‘perfect solution’ for Napoli, although we’ll have to wait and see what Spurs have to say about all this.
