Tottenham’s pursuit for Sporting fullback Pedro Porro has been escalating in a way which means we could see the end of the saga this week.

It all started on Monday, when Portuguese outlets started claiming that despite Spurs’ failed attempts to sign the player, they would try again in the coming days.

Then earlier on Tuesday, it was claimed by journalist Bruno Andrade that Tottenham scheduled a meeting on Wednesday, with Sporting insisting in making €45m with the sale.

It turns out the same journalist now comes up with a new update saying how ‘decisive’ this meeting will be.

He claims the conversation between Tottenham and Sporting will be ‘to close or collapse for good’, at least in the January transfer window.

The €45m demanded by Sporting is the price for Porro’s release clause, and that means they don’t want to negotiate away a single penny for his departure.

The Lions are aware of how valuable the player is, and know they should have more chances to sell him in the summer, with no need to lose him in the middle of the season.
