Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin is one of several names to have paid a loan to midfielder Nicolo Fagioli to pay off gambling debts.
That’s according to Il Messaggero, who report the Tottenham defender is on a list of names not currently under investigation by Milan prosecutors.
The newspaper explains that the initial investigation by Turin prosecutors is currently being transferred to Milan, where they are looking to recoup €1.5m and punish the ringleaders of the illegal gambling ring.
This has seen various documents come to light, including an extensive list of footballers and athletes associated with the matter.
While the focus is on the likes of Fagioli and Sandro Tonali, who were central to the investigation last year and banned from football for their part in the matter, there are 20 other names being investigated currently.
There are also several footballers on a list who are known to have paid loans to Fagioli to help him pay off the debts he accrued. Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin is one of such name.
He, alongside the likes of goalkeeper Stefano Turati and defender Federico Gatti, who lent €40,000, are believed to have made payments to a Milanese jewellery shop ‘Elysium’, which is central to the investigation. These were loans to help Fagioli pay off his debts.
There is no indication of how much the Tottenham defender loaned his fellow player, just that his name is on the list of players known to have done so. He is not currently under investigation.
