Bryan Gil will leave Tottenham at the end of the current campaign and has made it clear he wants to return to Sevilla.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the Tottenham outcast could reject other proposals to ensure he returns to his former club.
Estadio explain that Gil has decided to leave Tottenham and won’t accept another loan move away from the club, as has been the case in recent seasons.
He thoroughly enjoyed his return to Sevilla last season, where he spent ‘some wonderful months’ under Luis Mendilibar and won the Europa League.
He said goodbye to return to Tottenham but has barely featured for them again this season and does not appear to be a part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans moving forwards.
The intention is to find a permanent exit in the summer, he ‘flatly refuses’ to go out on loan again, and Estadio say Tottenham have set an asking price of €7-8m on him, which feels lower than reality.
Estadio say ‘proposals are not going to appeal’ to the player, though, as his desire is to return to Sevilla, and he’s fully focused on that.
Real Sociedad are another team in La Liga that haven’t lost sight of him after trying to get him in the January transfer window, but Gil wants Sevilla and that’s his aim.
Whether they can afford him and do a deal with Tottenham is debatable given their financial situation, but there’s insistence Gil wants it and is seemingly set to work as hard as he can to make it happen.
Feyenoord are keen on the player and have already made their interest public, so Estadio’s claims should be tested in the coming months.
