Under contract at Bologna until 2023, Mattias Svanberg is becoming something of a question mark at the Serie A side.
That’s because a renewal still hasn’t been signed, and clubs such as Tottenham and Manchester City are circling around the Sweden international.
A central midfielder by trade, the 22-year-old can also play a bit further back or even further forward if needs be, which makes him a valuable asset at a time when versatility is of growing importance in today’s game.
That’s why the likes of Antonio Conte have taken a shine to him, with Calciomercato explaining that both Spurs and their Premier League counterparts have ‘made the first enquiries’ regarding a potential transfer.
There is also the idea that he could renew for two years and then be sold at the end of the season ‘for an agreed amount’.
This all comes after claims of a ‘strong’ Tottenham interest in the player just before New Year’s, and a belief the London side were in the picture to sign him.
It seems they’ve now made the first steps to gather the required information, with Paratici lining up potential deals for the January transfer window and beyond.
