Barcelona and English clubs have gone ‘fishing’ at Celta Vigo’s youth centre, reports Faro de Vigo this week.
The Spanish club currently have a very good Cadet A team, and the talents within this youth sector have been attracting the attention of clubs both within Spain and overseas.
It’s not the type of attention Celta will want because before they can get these youngsters, under 17-year-olds, tied up to firm contracts, they can leave the club for free.
One of the English sides hovering around is Tottenham Hotspur, and Faro de Vigo explain the club are doing even more than that.
They’ve got their eyes on the wonderfully named Yago de Santiago. He’s a 16 year old midfielder and it’s claimed Tottenham have made him a contract offer which is described as ‘extraordinary’.
He’s already visited Spurs’ facilities, and according to these claims, things look good for Tottenham to seal a deal.
