Tottenham are ‘eyeing’ a move for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, who is yet to reach an agreement on a new deal with the Italian champions.
The Croatian is out of contract with Inter in the summer, and while they are keen to keep him, negotiations are yet to yield any results.
Fussball Transfers state that an agreement on a new contract is ‘currently far away’ because Inter are offering €2.5m a year, and Perisic was ‘around twice’ that amount.
That’s left his future up in the air, with the World Cup runner-up free to sign a pre-contract agreement for the summer with clubs this month if he wants to.
He has options, too, with Tottenham ‘among others’ that are ‘looking to sign’ the the 32-year-old if he’s available.
Perisic was a regular under Conte during his time at Inter, with five goals and five assists in 42 games under the Italian, and it seems the latter is keen to reunite with him if he can.
Whether Tottenham would be willing to offer Perisic the €5m a year he wants isn’t mentioned, nor is it made clear if they want a move to happen this month or in the summer.
The interest is there nonetheless. For now, it’s being ignored as Perisic’s ‘first contact’ is with Inter, as he wants to remain there if possible.
That could change in the coming weeks, and it seems Spurs are ready to take advantage if they can.
