Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Real Betis’ Emerson, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Brazilian is co-owned by the Spanish side and Barcelona, and the player will continue in Seville until 2021. The La Liga winners will have to pay €6m to Betis to take him next year.
If the Catalan club decide to recover him this summer, they will have to pay €9m to Los Verdiblancos.
It’s claimed Betis are concerned about the defender’s future because they are aware Barca are thinking of selling him this summer.
The report states Quique Setién’s side want to take the right-back and sell him in the same window or include him as part of an exchange operation.
The fullback has three goals and five assists in 30 league matches this season and his performances have caught attention of several clubs.
According to the newspaper, the Premier League remains the ‘most feasible’ destination for the 21-year-old. This is when Spurs get a mention and Mundo say the north London club like the South American ‘very much’.
José Mourinho has Serge Aurier as the only recognised right-back at his disposal. Spurs wanted to take Thomas Meunier on a free transfer, but he decided to join Borussia Dortmund. Therefore, they have turned their attention towards the South American.
