Tottenham Hotspur were named as a suitor for Fiorentina’s Dušan Vlahović and continue to be in the mix, even after Antonio Conte was named as Nuno Espírito Santo’s successor last week.
Last Saturday, TuttoMercatoWeb journalist Niccolo Ceccarini stated Conte has drawn up and agreed a list with Fabio Paratici to bolster his squad in January. The striker and Inter Milan defender Milan Škriniar are leading the list.
Later that day, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Spurs are ‘one of the favourites’ to sign the 21-year-old.
In the next fortnight, the Serie A side’s leaders will draw up a plan for the winter market, which will be ‘closely linked to what will happen with the Vlahović affair’, according to La Nazione.
Fiorentina’s idea is to retain the star until the end of the current season and will only let him leave in January, if they were to receive an ‘indispensable proposal’ of €70m and above.
When discussing suitors, the north London club get a mention as it’s claimed Tottenham are in the ‘front row’, along with Arsenal, for Conte’s target.
There are other clubs in the mix, but Spurs and the Gunners are currently leading the race.
Fiorentina have identified targets to replace Vlahović and would pursue these candidates, depending upon when the striker will end up leaving the club.
