It’s no secret Tottenham sometimes struggle to score goals in the absence of Harry Kane, and Vincent Janssen has also failed to make an instant impact at the Premier League club as far as hitting the back of the net is concerned.
Reports in Spain suggest Mauricio Pochettino could be forced to consider his options in the winter transfer window. On Tuesday, Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo take a look at the progress of the former players of Barcelona, who’ve recently left the club.
One of them is Sandro, who left the club in the summer to sign for Malaga on a free transfer. Mundo Deportivo say Tottenham could be interested in signing the former Barcelona striker in the January transfer market.
This isn’t the first time Tottenham have been linked with a move for the Spaniard. Earlier this year in January, several reports in the Spanish media claimed Tottenham are keen on Sandro, but it never materialised for them. Then it carried on in the summer, before Sandro joined Malaga.
It makes little sense for Tottenham to sign Sandro in January, given they could have got him for free in the summer. Daniel Levy would break in a rash at such a thought. Sandro has been finding the back of the net for Malaga and they’d of course want a reasonable fee – it just sounds so very un-Tottenham.
Levy is known throughout European football as being a tough negotiator, and paying money for something which had been free a few months ago isn’t Tottenham economics.
