On February 22nd, we carried a report from Sport, who explained Paulo Dybala is not a priority target for Barcelona.
It was also stated Tottenham Hotspur have made the ‘firmest offer’ to the Juventus star and their chief, Fabio Paratici, has ‘already spoken to him’. The player already has a proposal on the table from Spurs.
Paratici knows the forward from his time at the Turin club, where the latter’s current deal expires in June.
The Serie A side settled for a 1-1 draw against Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday and prior to the clash, Juve CEO Maurizio Arrivabene was quizzed about Dybala’s renewal.
“We will meet all expiring players at the end of February. We look ahead and, in addition to Dybala, we will also have to discuss the other renewals. We will do it in the right time and with an eye to the future,” he told Sky Italia.
“Optimism? Contracts are made in two, there can be optimism on one side and pessimism on the other and vice versa. The renewals involve a negotiation and, each party that participates in them, has a goal.”
Tutto Juve now claim the Old Lady will try to find an agreement over a new deal [worth €7m per season plus bonuses] with the 28-year-old in the coming weeks.
In the event the two parties fail to agree on an extension, there are four ‘interested parties’ waiting for him. One of them is Antonio Conte’s side. It’s claimed Spurs are ‘monitoring the situation closely’ and are ready to step things up in the coming weeks.
With Paratici already having held talks with Dybala and Tottenham taking steps, they can jump on the opportunity to sign the player, if there is no progress made by the Italian club to tie him down to a new deal.
