A rather random rumour comes from Tuttomercatoweb on Wednesday.
The Italian website claim Inter Milan are keen on Jannik Vestergaard, considering a loan with a buying option or a straight transfer in June.
It’s not just Inter who are keen, Tottenham are said to have identified the player as a target, and like his ‘characteristics’.
The interest from Tottenham is focused towards the end of the season, according to the claims, when it’s presumed Mauricio Pochettino will evaluate his defensive options.
Joining Tottenham in looking towards the summer are Arsenal, with Tuttomercatoweb saying Arsene Wenger’s club are looking for a Per Mertesacker replacement.
The interest from Arsenal and Tottenham makes things more ‘complicated’ for Inter.
Strangely, Gladbach’s take on all of this isn’t mentioned. Vestergaard is a regular, and has a contract with the club until June 2021. They’re under no pressure to sell the 25 year old, and it would be especially optimistic to think they’d consider a loan.
