Turkish newspaper Star report Tottenham Hotspur scouts will be in Istanbul this weekend to watch Vedat Muriqi in action when Fenerbahce face Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Kosovan striker has been in excellent form for his club and country this season, and will be the main threat for Fenerbahce. The Turkish side desperately need a win against their arch-rivals to keep their title challenge alive.

According to Star’s information, Spurs scouts will get a further lowdown on the attacker and they will follow his performance closely.

Previous reports emerged from the Turkish press suggesting Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen his squad by signing the 25 year old.

However, it’s unlikely Fener will sell their key player in the middle of the season, but a summer transfer could be on the agenda if Tottenham continue their interest.

Muriqi’s contract with the Istanbul side will expire at the end of June 2023.
