Not for the first time this year, Geoffrey Kondogbia is being linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
France Football claim, according to their own information, that Spurs have the midfielder in their sights for a summer transfer.
The 25 year old spent last season on loan at Valencia from Serie A club Inter Milan and he did so well that the Spanish team used their buying option.
That good season in La Liga has caught attention from elsewhere, and France Football claim Spurs initially approached Valencia or the player for information. They don’t make clear which.
Whilst several unnamed clubs are also said to be keen on the Frenchman, it’s Tottenham who are described as ‘most urgent’.
Spurs, who have been ‘seduced’ by Kondogbia’s box to box playing style, are said to have ‘entered into discussion’ with him.
France Football believe there are clubs ready to pay the player’s release clause, although they don’t report what that is.
On Sunday, Deporte Valenciano, a specialist Valencia website, reported the clause stands at €80m. It would be a surprise if Tottenham, or anyone else for that matter, go to such a high amount.
