Fenerbahce’s Vincent Janssen, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, could play a role in the Turkish side’s pursuit of Everton’s Davy Klaassen, claim Sporx.
The Turkish website report Fenerbahce are showing serious interest in the Everton midfielder, and are looking for a helping hand from the Tottenham loanee.
Janssen and Klaassen are teammates in the Netherlands national side, and Fenerbahce believe the Tottenham forward could convince Everton’s summer signing to join in the January transfer window.
Fenerbahce manager Aykut Kocaman has told his board he needs a box to box central midfielder who can operate as a heart of the team, and the general feeling in the Turkish media suggests Klaassen could be the solution.
The Dutch international has struggled since his £27m move from Ajax to Everton in the summer, and Fenerbahce are reportedly preparing a loan offer for the midfielder.
Likewise his compatriot Janssen failed to make an impact in his first season with Tottenham, with Mauricio Pochettino deciding to sign Fernando Llorente in the last window.
Turkish belief that that Janssen could help convince Klaassen to move from Everton to Fenerbahce seems to be based entirely on both footballers being Dutch.
