Galatasaray look set to fine Bruma after the winger’s ill-disciplined performance against Erzincanspor in the Turkish Cup, report Fotomac. The Portuguese winger is reportedly unhappy at the club after Galatasaray turned down Tottenham Hotspur’s approach to sign him.
Bruma was subbed in the 66th minute during the midweek game, and the youngster tried to head straight down the tunnel. Galatasaray manager Riekerink told Tottenham target Bruma to sit on the bench, which resulted in an exchange of the words between the pair. As a result Riekerink is set to leave Bruma on the bench when they play Akhisarspor at the weekend.
The Tottenham target also wants a new deal, but both sides have been unable to agree on this. Bruma is currently earning €1.2m per year after tax and is demanding a huge €4m net on his new contract. Galatasaray have made it clear they are not prepared to offer such a deal to the 22-year old.
Earlier in the transfer window we covered claims from Turkey that Tottenham had tabled a bid of €15m for Bruma, which was rejected by Galatasaray. At the time it was claimed the Turkish club could accept €20m, but Tottenham never came in with a second offer.
Around a week ago there were claims from Turkey that Bruma’s head had been turned by the Tottenham interest, given his desire to play in the Premier League.
However, with these latest developments Tottenham could look to take advantage of Bruma’s situation. The situation is beginning to get out of control, which would give Spurs some leverage in negotiations, assuming the claims of serious interest are true.
Mauricio Pochettino is consistently linked with interest in wingers, and Bruma is one the super-fast variety. Signing Georges-Kevin N’Koudou in the summer, Pochettino has hardly played the former Marseille player.
