Sabah and Fanatik are both reporting that Galatasaray technical staff are unhappy with Bruma’s attitude, and they believe the winger is not 100% focused because his head has been turned by Tottenham interest.

Galatasaray have no intention of selling Bruma this window and previous claims in the Turkish media stated the club had already already rejected an offer of €15m from Tottenham.

On January 12th Sabah claimed Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham had submitted a €15m offer, at the time it was reported a bid of over €20m could be successful, but the mood has changed since.

Bruma’s recent selfish display in the Turkish Cup against Elazığspor certainly angered manager Jan Olde Riekerink as well as Lukas Podolski. Bruma also rejected his manager’s instruction to switch sides with Garry Rodrigues and this has reportedly disappointed Riekerink.

Bruma’s situation is slowly becoming a concern for Galatasaray as the club and the player’s representatives are unable to reach agreement over a contract extension.

The Portuguese winger would love the chance to move to Tottenham, but to stay he wants €4m per year and Galatasaray are currently unable to offer this kind of money due to FFP.

There have been repeated stories in the Turkish media covering Tottenham interest, but it may be more through hope than expectation.

In November Sport Witness asked Cátio Baldé, Bruma’s agent, about Tottenham interest, and he told us: “There are English and German clubs who follow Bruma weekly. What’s happened is that there hasn’t been an advance until now. Anything can happen in December. He wants to play in the Premier League and he’s sure he’ll be bought.”

As the Turkish media would have it, since then Pochettino has encouraged Tottenham to act on the interest. If Spurs genuinely want the player then this is probably one which is best waiting for the summer, when, without a renewal, Tottenham would be able to get a good price with Bruma’s contract running out in 2018.

Tottenham bought Georges-Kevin N’Koudou from Marseille in the summer, with Clinton N’Jie going the other way. Perhaps there’s another Tottenham winger-in/winger-out situation on the horizon.
