Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik has his ‘suitcase ready’ ahead of a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say the striker is training on the sidelines of the Napoli squad at present as the Italian club look to move him on.
The Polish striker has been heavily linked with a transfer away from the Serie A side who are keen to move him on after investing heavily in their forward line this summer.
He had been close to moves to Juventus and Roma, but those options have now disappeared, and his likely destination is now the Premier League.
The last we heard on the potential deal was two days again when it was stated confidently that a deal can be done and there were ‘hot days’ expected before deadline day.
Corriere cover it today, and their stance is that Milik is very much ready to move should a deal be agreed somewhere.
He’s training outside of the rest of the Napoli squad at present and has his ‘suitcase ready’ for that eventuality, although the situation ‘still needs a little more’ before it can be unblocked.
The newspaper say he is the ‘real protagonist’ of the market for Napoli, who have held ‘concrete’ negotiations with Tottenham about a move.
He is very much out of the Italian club’s plans, and they would prefer some sort of deal this summer as he’s only got a year left on his contract and they don’t want to lose him on a free.
Tottenham are not the only ones in the picture in England, though, with it also explained that his intermediary has made ‘a series of polls’ in the Premier League as he looks to resolve his client’s future.
That would explain the recent links to Everton and Newcastle, although neither are named explicitly by Corriere here. Only Tottenham get that honour, with them seemingly at the front of the queue at this moment in time.
