Earlier this week, claims from England stated Fiorentina goalkeeper Tommaso Martinelli is on Tottenham Hotspur’s agenda.
Laviola.it, a website dedicating its coverage to Fiorentina, relay claims made in the UK and then provide their own take on the possibility of Martinelli joining Tottenham.
The 18-year-old graduated from the Serie A side’s youth system and has made only one senior appearance so far.
Martinelli is ‘looking for accommodation’ this summer because of David de Gea’s arrival and Pietro Terracciano’s decision to continue at the club. Tottenham could be an option for him.
It’s claimed Spurs would have closely followed the Italy U19 international’s performances for Fiorentina’s youth teams. The report adds Tottenham interest ‘would be serious’.
Laviola.it claim this is their own information. They aren’t clear whether Ange Postecoglou’s side will make the decisive move to sign Martinelli in this window.
Guglielmo Vicario is the first-choice stopper at Tottenham, while Fraser Forster [injured since February], Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman are the other three goalkeepers in the squad.
Martinelli would therefore be one for the future.
