Tottenham have just 10 days to make a decision on signing Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis this summer.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who report that the clause Tottenham have on the American will only be active for 10 days.
The newspaper covers reports from England today that Tottenham have decided to buy Cardoso in the summer as they look to bolster their squad.
They have an option to do so for €25m after negotiating a preferential clause on the American midfielder last summer as part of Giovani Lo Celso’s move to Betis.
Betis are waiting for Tottenham to make their move but Estadio report that they can only activate their clause between June 30th and July 10th. In other words, they have ten days at most to decide to take up the option on Cardoso this summer.
So, it seems there will be a rush on for Spurs to decide if they want to pay the €25m to get the player or not.
The advantage that they have over the competition, and there are other suitors for Cardoso as Wolves made a move in January as well, is a minimal one and there may be a rush on this summer if they are to use that advantage and get their man.
