If De Telegraaf are to be believed, half of Europe wants Andre Onana from Ajax.
The goalkeeper is keen to leave the Eredivisie side this summer, and Barcelona, Tottenham, Chelsea, PSG, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are all presented as interested.
Tottenham have ‘expressed their interest’ with the player’s entourage, but are now having second thoughts. Just like Chelsea are doing with Kepa, they’ve decided to stick with what they’ve got and continue with Hugo Lloris.
That makes some sense for Tottenham, especially given Ajax are looking for a big fee.
Onana has performed well for the Dutch club but probably hasn’t shown enough over a prolonged period to be considered one of the best goalkeepers in European football.
Agents appear to be at work, hence the links to the clubs mentioned.
Barcelona are said to have made contact through the player’s agent Albert Botines, however, just how concrete their interest is has to be questioned.
Onana wouldn’t take Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s place, and whilst there have been suggestions there’s an issue with renewal talks for the German stopper, it’s likelier an agreement for a new contract is found than they sell him.
