Nicolò Zaniolo has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur for some time, with the AS Roma star sometimes having a rocky time with the Serie A club.
Tuesday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, the regional Rome edition, reports Spurs will have an official at Thursday’s match between the Italian club and Leicester City.
The Europa Conference League game is taking place at the King Power, so it’s a good chance for Tottenham to see him in action, and how Zaniolo plays against a Premier League team.
According to the newspaper, Antonio Conte’s side will be very attentive to the 22-year-old, who has been playing in a variety of attacking roles this season. Newcastle United are also expected to send someone, and there’s interest from Juventus and AC Milan.
Zaniolo’s contract runs until June 2024, with talks for a renewal postponed until the end of the current campaign.
A new contract isn’t nailed on, and there’s been suggestions that Roma could look to cash-in and invest the proceeds elsewhere in Jose Mourinho’s squad.
Before that, Zaniolo needs to impress those watching him.
