Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in Tottenham’s Danny Rose isn’t anything new, but it keeps popping up, and Le Foot in France are the main ones pushing it.
The last time they mentioned it was back in December, a couple of weeks before the beginning of the January window, when they explained the 27-year-old was on Antero Henrique’s list to bolster the left-back role in the French capital.
Probably the weakest part of the Ligue 1 leaders’ defence, Yuri Berchiche and Layvin Kurzawa are the current men employed for the role, but Le Foot state the Portuguese director of football still wants to bring someone in.
Some of the names have changed since the last time the so-called list was published, but the Tottenham defender remains, alongside the likes of Borussia Dortmund’s Raphaël Guerreiro (who has been a long-term target for the French side) and Köln’s Jonas Hector.
Both Hector and Guerreiro can also play in midfield, which probably gives them an advantage, but Danny Rose’s situation at Spurs (regularly left on the bench) puts him in good stead if he is still wanting a move to a club capable of winning trophies regularly.
It’s a bit early to speculate whether a summer transfer is on the cards for Rose just yet, but if Ben Davies keeps getting picked ahead of him, we can’t see him staying around for much longer, especially if big clubs come knocking.
Tottenham have completed transfers with PSG for Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura over the past two windows, Danny Rose could potentially be the third move.
