Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth is on the ‘agenda’ of Leeds United and Brighton & Hove Albion, according to El Periódico Mediterráneo.

The newspaper mainly focuses Villarreal’s interest in the centre-back, and in the end, the Whites and the Seagulls get a mention.

Unai Emery’s side want to strengthen their heart of the defence for the new season and have made signing the Spurs player as their ‘goal’ for this summer.

The Argentina international lost his place after José Mourinho arrived at the club, and has not made single appearance for Spurs in this calendar year.

Despite the Portuguese tactician not relying on Foyth, the report states his future is ‘in the hands’ of the former Chelsea manager.

Tottenham reportedly paid €12m in bringing the South American to north London in 2017.

Having invested a lot on a young defender three years ago, the newspaper states the Premier League side’s intention is not to completely cut ties with Foyth. Therefore, they plan on letting him go out on loan this summer.

Takefusa Kubo, Ramiro Funes Mori and Carlos Bacca are currently occupying the three non-EU players at Villarreal, but the Yellow Submarine can still add Foyth to their squad because the South American holds a Spanish passport.

The report’s headline reads ‘Villarreal and Tottenham negotiate for Juan Foyth’, but the same is not backed up within the report.

Unai Emery’s side may have to battle it out with Leeds, Brighton and Real Betis for signing the player as all three clubs have Foyth on their ‘agenda’.

There’s no additional details about the Whites and the Seagulls’ interest in the Tottenham centre-half, suggesting they’re just keeping an eye on the situation for now, but with Bielsa fond of working with Argentinian players, this shouldn’t come as a surprise.
