Massimiliano Allegri is close to winning the Italian league for Juventus once again, and also managed to lead the club to a decent Champions League campaign this season. But he just can’t be left in peace by the local press.
The manager’s future is analysed by the media once again today, with outlets continuing to point out the possible replacements for him in the next season.
Calcio Mercato has a story claiming that even though Allegri has a contract running until 2020, he could be leaving to Arsenal or Chelsea in the summer.
One of his possible replacements could be coming from London, and that’s Mauricio Pochettino from Tottenham Hotspur.
They claim Tottenham must be paid between €8m and €10m for the boss to be free, while his year salary of €7m makes the operation quite expensive for the Old Lady.
But with the website even mentioning the possibility of Allegri staying at the end of the article, the story doesn’t say much about the chase.
Even though it’s interesting to know the cost to take Pochettino from Tottenham, if indeed it’s true, it doesn’t seem like Juventus are making an attempt to sign the manager anytime soon. Maybe Arsenal signing Allegri would change that.
If Pochettino does have an exit clause at Tottenham, and that’s a big IF, then it would be a surprise for it to be so low.
