It’s fair to say it’s been a learning season for Pau Lopez. Signed by Tottenham Hotspur on loan, the goalkeeper hasn’t played a single minute, and his deal expires in a few weeks.

Spanish outlet AS has a story today saying the player should finally have the opportunity to start in a friendly match against Kitchee on Friday, even though Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm have travelled with the team as well.

AS reiterates that Tottenham and Espanyol are negotiating for the player’s permanent transfer. Spurs are not keen on paying the €7m agreed at the start of the season, and talks on a much lower price have been ongoing. Pau Lopez actually making his debut will be a big jump forward in his Spurs career, especially if he plays well.

Tottenham have been trying to see just how little Espanyol will accept for Pau, who only has a year left on his contract with the Spanish club.
