This year, we’ve seen countless interviews from Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura where he talked about his love for São Paulo and his wish of returning to the club.

It’s known that the Tricolor are very attentive to that, as they’re just waiting for the opportunity to bring him back.

But it turns out that according to reports today, there’s another Brazilian side who are interested in signing Lucas from Tottenham. That’s Flamengo.

The information comes from Mauro Sant Anna, who claims the Rio de Janeiro club are monitoring the player’s situation.

It’s said that Lucas has a contract with Tottenham until 2024, but due to his good relationship with the board, they’d let him leave for Brazil with no cost attached.

The report claims the attacker’s salary at Spurs is something that São Paulo couldn’t even pay half of. Flamengo are clearly in a better financial situation, and that’s why they could end up being stronger contenders in the race.

Even though Lucas Moura’s affection for his former club is clear, it’s said he gives them ‘priority’, and not ‘exclusivity’.
