Manager Peter Bosz may be holding off interest from the likes of FC Twente in the hope that Tottenham make a move for him.
That’s according to journalist Tijmen van Wissing, who believes the Dutch coach could be an option for Tottenham thanks to his ‘feast for the eyes’ football.
Bosz is currently out of work after leaving Lyon in October last year, having managed just 58 games in charge of the French side.
He failed to impress in Ligue 1 after arriving following a spell at Bayer Leverkusen, which had initially started well and saw him secure Champions League football in his first season before struggling and being sacked in March 2021.
Despite his struggles there and at other clubs such as Borussia Dortmund and Ajax, he remains a manager with a solid reputation, particularly when it comes to playing attractive football that fans like.
That is certainly something Tottenham would like after becoming frustrated with the style of play under Antonio Conte, and Van Wissing believes Bosz may be waiting to see if he is given his chance at the job.
“On Friday I also said a bit: what if Tottenham come?” Twente Insite report him saying.
“And I saw Heitinga after the match against the Eagles. I can’t imagine that Ajax will not end up with Bosz. Today I received a signal from FC Twente that they tired of having to sit in the waiting room and that they will continue to switch.
“They put Bosz first and Bosz has indicated that he is open to a conversation. If you are open to a conversation, then you are at least interested. Then as Bosz you can put FC Twente in the waiting room because there are better options. come, but at FC Twente they think they should move on.
“I think it’s in the sporting challenge. The football he plays is a feast for the eyes. I think it’s a shame and would embrace it if he goes to FC Twente.
“But FC Twente also has to switch through. It is not the case that Bosz turns his nose up at FC Twente and that FC Twente has not been decisive enough.”
