Superhaber TV’s Levent Umit Erol claims Tottenham Hotspur are close to signing Fenerbahce midfielder Eljif Elmas.
The Turkish journalist reports Tottenham have offered €20m to Fenerbahce to sign the highly-rated youngster this summer. Spurs will be looking to bolster their squad in the transfer window and it seems Elmas is an option for the London club.
The 19-year old midfielder has also been linked with a move to Leicester City and Cardiff City in recent weeks and some reports say Serie A side Fiorentina are showing an interest.
According to SuperHaber, Fenerbahce will accept offers in the region of €20m because the club need to sell some of their players to comply with FFP rules.
Fenerbahce signed Elmas from his boyhood club Rabotnicki at the start of last season for €180K and subsequently the Super Lig are set to make a tidy profit on the player.
Elmas has played 34 games for Fenerbahce this season and scored one goal. He is under contract at Ulker Stadium until June 2022.
The report presents the new as something which is expected to happen, saying Tottenham will be the player’s ‘new address’.
