Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as a new contender for Hellas Verona’s Antonín Barák.
The attacking midfielder initially joined the club on loan in 2020 and managed seven goals and three assists in the league last season. His displays convinced the Serie A side to buy him in 2021 and he’s continued to excel this term, managing 10 goals and four assists.
Tottenham Hotspur chief Fabio Paratici is ‘looking for quality and physicality’ in the middle of the pitch.
That’s what TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting, and they further add the north London club are ‘forcing on Barák’.
It’s said ‘there is a strong pressure’ regarding the Czech Republic international from Antonio Conte and Paratici. The latter ‘seems ready to accelerate’ to bring the player to Spurs in the summer.
Barák’s current deal with Hellas Verona runs down in 2024. The website states the former Udinese man ‘seems ready for the definitive leap in quality’ to a big European club.
Tottenham are not alone as Corriere di Verona reported earlier this month that the player is followed by clubs in Italy, England and Germany. It was also explained Barák’s price tag will be ‘no less than €20m’ and it ‘can reach €25m’.
