There’s a claim in the Italian media that Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are interested in AS Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara.
The 22 year old only joined the Serie A side from Napoli last summer but has caught the eye of the two London clubs.
According to TMW, Tottenham and Chelsea have been ‘closely studying’ the defensive midfielder and scouts from both Premier League clubs will be in attendance when Roma take on Juventus tonight in the Italian capital.
It’s claimed the two clubs don’t see Diawara as a target in this transfer window, but they could look to move in on the youngster this summer. Chelsea and Tottenham will be looking to strengthen their squads following mixed campaigns and the Guinea international looks to be an option.
Since returning from injury in November, Diawara has cemented a place in the Roma starting eleven and will be expected to line up against Juventus in the Stadio Olimpico.
He’s contracted to the Italian side until June 2024.
