It’s time for the Marcelo Brozovic rumours to start ahead of the January transfer window. Even in September, it was reported in Italy that Tottenham and Chelsea were ‘preferred bidders’ for a January transfer, allowing Inter to sell outside of Italy.

Back in July, it was claimed in Italy that Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham had a ‘dream’ of signing a player like Brozovic, and he could be their top target. Moussa Sissoko hasn’t exactly set Spurs alight, and it’d be no surprise if Chelsea manager Antonio Conte liked Brozovic, having a good knowledge of Serie A.

To get it straight, Inter should not be considering selling Brozovic to Chelsea, Tottenham, or anyone else. But with Inter being Inter, an unwise transfer decision is never too far away.

Screen Shot 2016-12-12 at 10.44.35Gazzetta dello Sport report that despite Brozovic putting in a goalscoring Man of the Match performance for Inter, in their 2-0 victory over Genoa, his future is still uncertain. The Italian newspaper say Brozovic could be ‘sacrificed on the altar of financial fair play’ and sold for something like €25m to €30m.

Inter are having issues meeting FFP and once again could lose a footballer who has much room to see his value grow, Brozovic is 24 years of age, and miss out on his peak and a potentially much bigger fee.

They should probably consider selling most of their other players before considering a Brozovic exit, but this is Inter, and Tottenham, Chelsea, or anyone else for that matter, could take advantage.
