Marcus Edwards’ great form at Sporting is the reason several Portuguese newspapers today have stories about his future.
As outlet Correio da Manhã claims the winger is drawing big interest from England, they say Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are the clubs ‘leading the way’ for the signing.
The winger put in a great exhibition against Estrela Amadora on Sunday, and that ‘didn’t go unnoticed’ among the clubs who want him.
Tottenham are said to have the ‘upper hand in this race’, and the reason is that Edwards used to belong to them before moving to Portugal.
Spurs currently have 25% of Edwards’ future move, which would obviously become a discount in case they get to buy him from Sporting.
Tottenham and Chelsea interest in Edwards is also mentioned by newspaper O Jogo, although there aren’t big details on how ready those clubs are to move for the signing.
The 25-year-old has three goals and three assists in 14 games for Sporting this season, and is valued by Transfermarkt at €30m.
