Tottenham Hotspur appointed Fabio Paratici as their Managing Director of Football back in June, a month after he left Juventus.
The north London club’s chief looked at Serie A in the last window to help Spurs sign two players. His past connection with Antonio Conte helped the club appoint the latter as Nuno Espírito Santo’s successor last month.
Both Paratici and the manager have their eyes set on the Italian market, where Fiorentina star Dušan Vlahović has emerged as one of the main targets. Earlier this week, Corriere dello Sport reported Tottenham are ‘ready to get serious’ to sign the 21-year-old.
The Old Lady don’t have enough resources as of now to meet his €80m valuation in the winter market. Spurs are also interested and are one of the ‘candidates’ who have better economic resources, which would help in ‘mugging’ Juve, to acquire the striker’s services.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side are keen to bolster the attack in January and failure to do so will force them to invest next summer. An attempt from Juventus to sign Vlahović will see them face competition from Tottenham and other suitors.
