Tottenham are ‘ready to get serious’ in the race for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, who is on Antonio Conte’s wishlist of signings at the club.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say Spurs are ready to make their move to secure one of the hottest prospects in Europe.
Vlahovic is the current top goalscorer in Serie A, something which has only further established him as one of the players of the future.
The whole of Europe are keeping a close eye on his development and continually impressive performances, particularly as his contract is set to expire in 2023, and he’s made it clear he won’t be renewing.
Tottenham have been admirers for some time as they look for competition for Harry Kane and a potential replacement for him should he ever leave.
Now it seems they are ready to take that up a notch, with Corriere stating that they ‘would be ready to get serious’ in the race, and are ‘pressing’ for the player.
At the moment, Vlahovic is focused on his performances on the pitch, a strategy that is clearly working for him as the goals keep flowing.
There were talks with Fiorentina’s leadership about a renewal, but they have been off since October 5th and since then they have been working to find the ‘best solutions’ to the issue.
In fact, they are already eyeing replacements for their prized asset, suggesting that they have already accepted they will be losing him.
That should come as a boost to Tottenham, who are now seemingly ready to step up their efforts to get a deal done in the summer.
