Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur continue to be interested in Benfica left-back Alejandro Grimaldo, according to reports from the Portuguese press on Sunday.
Newspaper Record has a story today which is mostly about Napoli’s chase for the player, as the Italian side would like to have him as a replacement for Fazhou Ghoulam, who’s currently injured.
But other clubs have already shown their desire to sign Grimaldo, which is the case of Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur.
It’s claimed that the London side have ‘reserved’ €30m for the Spaniard, and can ‘advance at any moment’.
What Spurs would be waiting for is their own decision on Danny Rose’s future at the club. Should Mauricio Pochettino sanction a sale then it’s claimed the Premier League club will move for the Spaniard.
Record claims that Benfica will demand at least €30m for Grimaldo.
The player has a contract running until 2021, and a €60m release clause, so the Lisbon side are in a pretty good position to negotiate.
