According to an exclusive report from Ghanasoccernet, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has identified Swansea’s Andre Ayew as a potential target in this transfer window.
Yes, you read that right.
The Portuguese manager will be looking to strengthen his squad in January and signing Ayew could add firepower upfront.
Mourinho won’t be able to use Harry Kane for around six weeks due to injury and Spurs may need to bring in a forward to provide other options.
The 30 year old spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce and he didn’t have the best spell with the Yellow Canaries. He struggled with injuries and subsequently the Super Lig side decided not to retain him for this season.
However, he’s impressed for Swansea City since returning to the Liberty Stadium last summer. He’s quickly established himself as a key member in Steve Cooper’s side after scoring 12 goals in the Championship.
Ghanasoccernet say the former Marseille captain is happy in Wales but a move to North London to play under Jose Mourinho could be too good to turn down.
Ayew’s contract with the Swans will expire at the end of June 2021.’
