At the weekend, reports from Italy stated Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso is more than a suggestion for Fiorentina and a meeting was held to sign him for the Serie A side.
It was also explained the Italian club’s idea is to take the 26-year-old on a loan deal with the right of redemption.
This formula to sign the Tottenham player is highlighted in today’s La Nazione, relayed by Fiorentina Uno.
It’s said the deal structured by La Viola, who want a similar deal (loan) to the one they put together for Álvaro Odriozola, for the attacking midfielder has not pleased the north London club.
Therefore, Spurs have ‘blocked everything’ for Lo Celso’s potential move to Serie A.
Tottenham are willing to part ways with the Argentina international in the current window, which was indicated when Antonio Conte left him out of the Premier League side’s squad for the pre-season tour to South Korea.
However, they aren’t interested in sharing the wages of the player, wanting the club he goes to to pay for them all.
Despite Spurs not favouring this avenue, the report adds Tottenham and Fiorentina are working to find out if they can reach a ‘meeting point’ for Lo Celso.
