It appears we are finally reaching the final stages of the Leo Østigard-Brighton & Hove Albion saga, with the player heading to Napoli.

The latest on the matter comes from CalcioNapoli24, who make it clear the Norwegian ‘is the next signing’ to be made by the Serie A side.

In fact, the Brighton man is already at the ‘Sporthotel Rosatti’, and is ‘waiting for his first official appearance’ in the Napoli shirt.

He is simply waiting for ‘the resolution of the last bureaucratic details’, as he cannot be ‘shown in public’ with his new side before then.

Napoli trained as normal this morning, but the Brighton defender wasn’t there for that very reason.

Østigard is set to be one of the replacement to help with the departure of Kalidou Koulibaly to Chelsea, although the Italians are also targeting another player on top of the Norway international.

The Brighton man spent the second half of last season at Genoa, where he did well enough to be noticed by other Serie A sides, including Napoli.
