Real Madrid are ‘beginning to rub their hands together’ at Gareth Bale’s return to form for Tottenham over the last month.
That’s according to AS, who say the Spanish club are increasingly confident they will be able to get rid of the Welshman come the summer.
Bale returned to Tottenham on loan in the summer transfer window but had endured a difficult start to the campaign, with injuries and a lack of form, meaning he wasn’t a part of Jose Mourinho’s plans.
That has changed over the last month or so, though, with the Portuguese showing faith in the Welshman and being duly rewarded with several top performances.
Bale is living a ‘real rebirth’ according to AS, and this ‘unexpected situation’ has those in charge at the Bernabeu looking on delighted.
With six goals in six games and ten in total, Bale has more than Vinicius, Rodrygo, Asensio and Hazard have scored combined and, while that reflects badly on the Madrid group, it’s seen as excellent by the club.
That’s because Bale is still one of the ‘greatest assets’ they have, and the more he performs for Tottenham, the more options Madrid will have to ‘manoeuvre with this money.’
The Spanish giants are not ruling anything out at present, with the most favourable outcome being that Bale will leave in a permanent transfer and for a decent price if his performances continue to be high.
The more feasible option is that Daniel Levy sanctions another year-long loan deal, although it would have to be discussed whether Spurs would pay the full €30m gross needed to sign Bale in that scenario.
The third option is that Bale remains at the Bernabeu, something his advisors have not ruled out, particularly if Zinedine Zidane does not remain as coach.
Bale, for his part, remains on the sidelines and in an ‘increasingly good mood’. In fact, he has one eye on the European Championships this summer as a continuation of his rebirth.
That would suit him, Real Madrid and Tottenham to the ground, with everyone currently benefitting from the Welshman’s efforts to give his career one last shot in the arm.
