Tottenham Hotspur allowed Kieran Trippier to complete a switch to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday and are now left with Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters as the other two recognised right-backs in the squad.
Juan Foyth, who primarily operates as a centre-back, can also feature on the right side of the back four.
Italian website Calciomercato claims Spurs are looking at AS Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi as a potential target to replace the former Burnley man.
The Serie A side are interested in signing Toby Alderweireld from the north London club and Franco Baldini is negotiating on Roma’s behalf for the 30-year-old.
During the discussions between the two clubs for the Belgium international, there was also talk about the 28-year-old fullback.
Florenzi signed a five-year extension last August and the Italian capital club value him around €30m.
It remains to be seen if Mauricio Pochettino will rely on Aurier and Walker-Peters next season or if Tottenham bring in a replacement for Trippier.
