Italian website Tutto Mercato Web claims Chelsea’s interest in Franck Kessie is strong and he’s a target for the Blues manager Maurizio Sarri next season.
The midfielder is at AC Milan on a two-year loan deal from Atalanta and the former has to make the deal permanent in the summer.
Even though Chelsea are convinced they can sign the Ivory Coast international, the report mentions there are several obstacles for the west London club and this includes Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
It’s explained the two north London clubs and Paris Saint-Germain are ‘at the window’ for the 22-year-old. In addition to this, the Rossoneri manager Gennaro Gattuso does not want to part ways with the player.
Kessie, on the other hand, has asked Milan for a ‘contractual retouch’ following his impressive spell in the last 18 months and the Italian club could be facing a tough six months ahead of them.
The report mentions it could be even more difficult for Milan to retain the midfielder if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League as they are currently fifth in the table with 31 points, trailing fourth placed Lazio by a point.
