On April 11th, journalist Rudy Galetti reported Tottenham Hotspur have been in talks with Feyenoord for weeks over a deal for Santiago Giménez. Later that day, he stated Arsenal are set to provide competition to Spurs in the transfer race.

Speaking to La Perrada, journalist Rubén Rodríguez claims the striker has received ‘two very important offers’, and that it’s ‘complicated’ for him to continue with the Dutch club.

He didn’t reveal the details of the clubs that tabled offers, but did state one team is from the Premier League and the other from Serie A.

Vamos Cruz Azul have relayed Rodríguez’s claim and then given their own information on this case, which is when they mention both Tottenham and Arsenal.

They state the Mexico international’s father, who is also his agent, will travel to Europe in the ‘coming days’ to learn more about these offers.

Giménez has starred for the Eredivisie side this season, scoring 24 goals and registering six assists from 39 games, and this has seen him attract interest from several clubs in England and across Europe.

Despite this, Vamos Cruz Azul state ‘the reality is’ that Tottenham and Arsenal are the two clubs to have ‘shown most interest’ in the Feyenoord star.

They add one of the two north London clubs would have made a ‘very important offer’ for Giménez.

Tottenham are the side who have been linked the most by far, and the inclusion of Arsenal has felt like an effort to hype the situation and create the idea of a battle which may not be there.
