France’s RMC aren’t giving up on Riyad Mahrez just yet.
It’s claimed Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea are still ‘attentive’ to the Leicester City player’s situation, despite a deal now looking unlikely.
On Wednesday evening the Algerian football federation publicly announced Mahrez was released from international duty to sort out transfer issues, and that set the rumours off.
Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea were among the first clubs linked after those claims, and they have been repeatedly since.
Arsenal were strongly linked with Mahrez towards the end of the last summer window, especially in France, Chelsea have been repeatedly link in Spain on Thursday, and Tottenham keep being thrown into the mix as well.
Despite a series of Catalan denials on Thursday, RMC insist there’s still interest from Barcelona, with the Spanish window only closing on Friday.
Should Mahrez be moving to any of the English clubs, he needs to hurry up. It’s likely he’d grasp the chance to join any, with Chelsea as champions, Tottenham on an upward curve, and Arsenal seemingly a club he’s long fancied.
It’s unlikely though.
