Tottenham Hotspur are ‘following’ Getafe left-back Marc Cucurella, with it looking likely that the 21-year-old will move abroad this season.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who report that Cururella’s foreign suitors are pushing harder for his signature than those in Spain at this moment in time.
The Spaniard has been in impressive form this season, racking up five assists and one goal in 34 games for Getafe this season after joining them on loan from Barcelona in the summer.
He’s unlikely to remain at the Nou Camp long-term, having found playing time there hard to come by, and has a long list of suitors apparently keen to sign him this summer.
Tottenham have been named among them on numerous occasions, with it claimed that José Mourinho wants to ‘recruit’ him this summer.
Estadio Deportivo cover his situation today and again name Tottenham among his many admirers, alongside La Liga side Sevilla.
However, despite Monchi considering Cucurella as a ‘very interesting’ alternative to their current left-backs, his future ‘points to abroad’.
The website states that his foreign suitors, so the likes of Tottenham, are ‘advancing their interest’ much more than those inside of Spain.
ED don’t make it clear whether it is the interest from England or Germany that are pushing hardest, although given Spurs’ need for a left-back, it wouldn’t be surprising if they are pushing for his signature.
