Tottenham Hotspur are enduring an inconsistent season in the Premier League, as they find themselves at tenth in the table.

Both Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero have faced injury issues across the campaign and that has exposed Tottenham’s lack of depth and quality at centre-back, with Ben Davies having played in the role.

Young Archie Gray has also played at centre-back three times this season and this suggests that Ange Postecoglou’s side needs a new centre-back.

Now, a new potential target has now emerged and Gazzetta dello Sport have mentioned that Spurs are a ‘plausible destination’ for Paris Saint-Germain’s Milan Skriniar.

He didn’t feature at all in PSG’s Ligue 1 game against Lyon at the weekend and he is not part of Luis Enrique’s plans at all. A January exit has now become a necessity for the Slovakian.

While there is a possibility of him returning to Serie A, Skriniar’s wage demands and PSG’s own demands could be a challenge.

That is why Tottenham could be a solution to his problems and they can help him ‘relaunch’ his career away from France.

Postecoglou’s side have been described as a more credible option than Atletico Madrid, who are also a potential suitor.
